What the research neighborhood actually covers
GHK-Cu is one of the most studied peptides in dermatology. Peer-reviewed research, primarily from the 1990s and 2000s, indicates that GHK-Cu can stimulate collagen synthesis, promote wound healing, and support antioxidant activity in cultured cells and animal models. Some small human studies have reported improvements in skin texture and fine lines with topical application. However, the evidence base is not uniform: many studies are small, short-term, or industry-funded, and results vary by formulation and concentration.
Limits of the evidence
Most clinical data on GHK-Cu comes from topical cosmetic products, not systemic use. The peptide's effects are dose-dependent, and the 'reversal' of aging is an overstatement. No large, long-term, placebo-controlled trials have demonstrated that GHK-Cu can reverse chronological aging or replace lost collagen to a clinically meaningful degree. The peptide's mechanism is better described as supportive—modulating repair processes—rather than regenerative in the way the clip implies.
